The Decoflame Robeys Heritage Basket is a bioethanol fire basket made for traditional fireplaces - developed by Danish bioethanol specialist Decoflame with UK fireplace brand Robeys. It positions inside an existing fireplace opening in minutes, with no permanent installation and no chimney work, giving period surrounds a living fire again: ceramic logs arranged between split flame lines, over an ember bed lit from beneath by integrated LEDs.
Control comes from the Decoflame app, the remote control or the built-in LCD panel, with six flame levels including ECO and timers. Heat output runs from 1.1kW up to 3.4kW, and the 3.5-litre tank burns for up to 18.7 hours at the lowest setting. A CO2 sensor calibrated to 5,000 ppm shuts the fire down automatically if air quality changes, backed by emergency shut-off and spill sensors. Made in Denmark; finished in matt black or gun metal.

About the Decoflame Heritage Bioethanol Basket
A collaboration between Danish bioethanol specialist Decoflame and UK fireplace brand Robeys, the Heritage Basket does something a stove cannot: it returns a living fire to an existing traditional fireplace without touching the building. The basket positions inside the opening in minutes and needs only a power supply - no chimney, no flue, no permanent installation.
The fire itself is pure Decoflame. The Split Flame Configuration runs separate flame lines through the basket, so the ceramic logs sit naturally between the flames over an ember bed lit from beneath by integrated LEDs. Six flame levels including ECO, app control, CO2 monitoring - and up to 18.7 hours of fire from a single tank. Preserve the past; embrace the future.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Decoflame Robeys Heritage Basket?
A bioethanol fire basket designed for traditional fireplaces, developed by Danish bioethanol specialist Decoflame with UK fireplace brand Robeys. It sits inside an existing fireplace opening and combines split flame lines, ceramic logs and an illuminated ember bed to recreate the look of a real wood fire - with no chimney and no permanent installation.
Does the Decoflame Robeys Heritage Basket need a chimney or flue?
No. Bioethanol burns cleanly, so the basket needs no chimney or flue even though it sits inside a fireplace opening. What matters is room volume: Decoflame specifies a minimum room size of 30m3 - roughly a 12m2 room with a standard ceiling.
How is the Decoflame Robeys Heritage Basket installed?
In minutes, and with no building work. The basket positions inside a suitable fireplace opening and needs only a mains power supply. There is no permanent fixing and no alteration to the fireplace, which makes it practical for listed buildings and rented homes as well as family houses.
How much heat does the Decoflame Robeys Heritage Basket produce?
Between 1.1 and 3.4kW depending on the flame level - comparable to a small open fire at full output. At the lowest setting it runs gently for atmosphere; at the highest it takes the chill off a medium-sized room.
How long does the Decoflame Robeys Heritage Basket burn on a full tank?
The 3.5-litre tank burns for up to 18.7 hours at the lowest flame level, 8 hours on ECO, and around 5.8 hours at full output. Fuel consumption runs from 0.19 to 0.61 litres per hour depending on the level you set.
How do you control the Decoflame Robeys Heritage Basket?
Three ways: the Decoflame app, the included remote control, or the LCD panel on the basket itself. All three adjust the six flame levels including ECO, and the app adds timers and burner functions.
Is the Decoflame Robeys Heritage Basket safe to use indoors?
Yes - it is engineered for it. A CO2 sensor calibrated to 5,000 ppm monitors air quality continuously and shuts the fire down with a warning if the level is ever exceeded, alongside automatic emergency shut-off and spill sensors. As with any bioethanol fire, normal room ventilation applies.
What fuel does the Decoflame Robeys Heritage Basket use?
Standard bioethanol at 96.5-97.5% purity, widely available in the UK. An external fuel pump with quick connection is included for clean refuelling - always refuel with the burner off and fully cool.
What size fireplace does the Decoflame Robeys Heritage Basket fit?
The basket measures 532mm wide, 297mm deep and 237mm high, so it suits most standard traditional fireplace openings. If your opening is unusually small, measure first - or send us the dimensions and we will confirm the fit.
What finishes does the Decoflame Robeys Heritage Basket come in?
Two: matt black or gun metal. Matt black reads as a traditional fire basket; gun metal sits well in more contemporary surrounds.
