About DecoFlame LogicWood Bioethanol Burners
Chosen by Marlow Stoves
A LogicWood Linear burner is made for the projects a wood stove cannot reach: media walls, bespoke furniture, long architectural surfaces. Because bioethanol needs no chimney or flue, the fire can run the length of a wall or sit inside cabinetry - and because the flame is split into separate lines around ceramic logs, what you see reads as a genuine wood fire rather than a single ribbon of flame.
Every LogicWood Linear is designed and made in Denmark by Decoflame, with electronic control throughout: six flame levels from the app, remote or LCD panel, watched over by automatic emergency shut-off, spill sensors and CO2 monitoring. We supply across the UK and install within our local radius - call 01628 290142 to talk through your project with one of the team.
DecoFlame Logic Frequently Asked Questions
Do bioethanol fires actually give off heat?
Yes - a bioethanol fire is a real flame burning real fuel, so the heat is genuine. The Decoflame LogicWood Linear 720 produces 2.9kW and the 920 produces 3.9kW, comparable to a small wood burning stove. They work best as atmospheric warmth taking the edge off a room, rather than as primary heating.
Do bioethanol fires smell?
Burning correctly on good-quality fuel, virtually not. Bioethanol at 96.5-97.5% purity burns very cleanly, so there is no smoke and no lasting odour - one reason bioethanol fires suit media walls and open-plan rooms. Any slight smell on ignition or extinguishing disperses quickly.
How much does a bioethanol fire cost to run?
It depends on the flame level. Run a Decoflame LogicWood on its lower ECO-Wave settings and a tank lasts far longer than at full output - the 720 manages up to 10.2 hours per fill, the 920 up to 9.5. Bioethanol fuel is widely available in the UK; your running costs follow how you use the flame levels.
Do you need ventilation for a bioethanol burner?
Bioethanol consumes oxygen as it burns, so the room needs adequate volume rather than a flue. Decoflame specifies minimum room sizes for the LogicWood Linear - 62m3 for the 720 and 85m3 for the 920, roughly a medium to large living room. Normal household ventilation is sufficient in rooms of that size.
Can I install a Decoflame LogicWood myself?
We would advise against it. The burner builds into non-combustible materials to exact cut-out dimensions, with set clearances above and below, and it needs an earthed 230V supply. Our team installs within our local radius; elsewhere in the UK we supply the burner with Decoflame's technical drawings for your builder or installer.
What makes the Decoflame LogicWood different from other bioethanol burners?
Most bioethanol burners produce one continuous line of flame. The LogicWood's Split Flame Configuration separates the fire into distinct flame lines, so ceramic logs can sit between them over a glowing, LED-lit ember bed. It is the closest a bioethanol fire comes to the look of burning logs.
Where are Decoflame bioethanol fires made?
In Denmark, by Decoflame ApS. The company specialises in electronically controlled bioethanol fires, and the LogicWood Linear series is built to order with Scandinavian fit and finish - stainless steel and powder-coated aluminium, in black.
